Do NOT buy LG Air Conditioner in Israel

Do never buy an LG air conditioner in Israel. By "never" I mean NEVER!

Recently we have bought a new air conditioner LG Model ES-H2465EMO, with Neo Plasma. The air conditioner itself maybe a good choice, but the service of LG in Israel is bad. Day after it was installed, we discovered that it leaks gas. So we called services (as a reminder - AC is brand new and was just installed) and they have answered that they will come check in next 2 weeks. Those were weeks of extreme hot here, in Israel and we didn't want to wait so long and asked why not next 48 hours, as it is written in their services paper. Guess what was the answer? :D "We are working 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Divide 48 hours by 6 hours, that gives you 8 working days, e.g. almost 2 weeks". Duh! Now I know what is the meaning of 48 hours service. This way I can treat 24/7 as 24 days in 7 years, why not :D.

Ok, after many phone calls, they have sent us someone to check, after 1.5 week (remember 48 hours?). The guy that came to check it, said that it was poorly installed. Note, that he wasn't a technician, he was a tester, so he couldn't fix himself in place, instead he sent us another technician... guess?... in next 48 hours! Oh yes...

When finally technician arrived, he said that installer was dumb and this all his fault. He then "fixed" the problem and left. Day after there was no gas left in AC... Why? First, technician didn't fill it in, second he didn't fix the leak. In addition, the plastic that is covering AC was broken.

Technician came again (I don't have to remind you about 48 hours, right?)... After he has left, the hole in wall became much bigger, leak smaller (wow!) and plastic broken in 2 places. Ok, at least we can turn it on without placing a container under as a water stock. Next 48 hours (LG time) we have tried to convince LG service that leak still exists. They said they will send a technician in next 48 hours...

To be continued...

Wow. That 48 hour thing is the most unbelivable piece of nonsense I have ever heard. I bet you could sue for that. But then you might encouinter something even worse than LG time. Israeli Court time!

Well- good luck to you

After living twice in Israel over the last 40 years, I am not surprised by this. SO typical. This wouldn't happen in the US. If it did, LG would be out of business in their biggest market. Court time? That is a joke too. If that happened here, a trip to the store you bought it from and a meeting with the owner or manager would straighten it out. In Israel it is: Kacha b'a'aretz!

I wouldn't buy any LG products in Israel. We are having a similar experience with our refrigerator and the service LG provides here in Israel is atrocious. I will never buy LG here again. My fridge came with a broken shelf, a year later it has still not been resolved and the 48 hour issue is absolutely true...horrible. And of course calling the store did me no good either. I'm finding customer service in this country to be pretty awful in general.

Don't ever buy products at the Sakal duty free shop for electronics at the airport. I bought an LG DVD/video player and television set there. They sent someone later to my home to deliver it and they were supposed to assemble it but couldn't. A few days later someone else came to assemble it and charged me NIS 400 for a cable to connect the 2 devices. (This is after the salesman at the shop promised that all cables I needed were included.) I complained to the consumer council, and they never did anything.

Dangerous stuff, leaking gas. Two weeks is way too long to let a problem like this sit and simmer especially if you are in a hot climate. Wow, you must have been frantic! Love how everyone is ready to blame the other guy…how did it turn out? Hope all goes well now.

Wow okay... that is really poor customer service. I will think twice before buying anything that depends on LG customer service. Here sometimes stores have their own service providers so it might be better, but that's a really bad experience for you... I'm sorry to read about it

My friend is residing in Israel and he asked me which brand should he go for in air conditioner. I want to suggest him LG but now I was afraid after reading your post. Customer service provided to you was poor and 48 hours is too long time. Thanks for sharing at a right time.
